Ruth Elgey

Ruth qualified from Nottingham University in 2000 with a Batchelor of Nursing Degree. The majority her career has focussed around Women’s Health, initially practicing in acute & emergency gynaecology at UCH in London, followed by work at The London Fertility Centre on Harley St. Ruth then moved into General Practice expanding her skills within Women’s Health. Ruth has achieved further post-graduate diplomas, including the Minor Illness qualification in 2014 and the Independent Prescribing qualification in 2015.

Ruth is delighted to be working at Harpenden Medical, and is looking forward to helping individuals proactively take control of their health. Ruth brings a wealth experience and is excited to provide a holistic approach to patient’s needs to assist them in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
When not at Harpenden Medical Ruth continues to work in General Practice leading the nursing team and working as a Nurse Practitioner specialising in minor illness, the management of asthma and running a women’s health service offering contraception, screening and peri/menopausal care.
