Paediatrics
Dr Felicity Taylor, Consultant Paediatrician and founder of The Children’s Clinic offers regular consultations at Harpenden Medical by prior arrangement. Felicity provides friendly and expert medical care for children from birth to 17 years inclusive.
Whether you need a single consultation or wish for your child to be seen annually by a Consultant Paediatrician for routine review, Felicity can treat all aspects of your baby or child’s health, development and well-being.
At your child’s appointment, Felicity will take the time to listen, perform a thorough examination, and work with you to determine an agreed plan. You will receive a thorough explanation of any diagnosis made, and a plan for further tests and follow up (if any) will be agreed with you.
Felicity has extensive contacts within the paediatric healthcare sphere, and can arrange onward referral to leading private sub-specialists or, if preferred, provide you with a comprehensive plan to take back to discuss with your family practitioner.
Please phone 999 immediately if you believe you have a medical emergency, we cannot offer services for emergency concerns.
Services offered at Harpenden Medical:
Well-Baby & Well-Child Checks (self-pay only)
A Well-Baby or Well-Child check gives families confidence that their child is growing and developing as expected, and allows any existing conditions to be managed pro-actively. This service provides children and their parents with the time they need to discuss any concerns that they have, and an agreed management plan be put in place. This service is available as a one-off consultation or on an annual basis.
Self-pay from £260.00
General Paediatric Consultations (self-pay only)
If you have been referred by your GP to see a Paediatrician, then Felicity is happy to provide expert and friendly paediatric review. Most common issues can usually be resolved during this appointment, and Felicity offers follow-up appointments to check all is well. If onward referral to another tertiary specialist is required (e.g. paediatric ENT, paediatric neurology), Felicity can provide advice and facilitate referrals to the most appropriate specialists.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to arrange a consultation?
You do not need a referral from your GP to arrange a consultation. As per national professional guidelines, Dr Taylor will arrange for details of the consultation to be shared confidentially with your regular GP, so that they are aware of any changes in your child’s medical needs.
What is included in the appointment fee?
As part of your child’s appointment, they will receive a comprehensive assessment including history and examination. Simple investigations such as urinalysis and blood glucose tests are included. Any further required tests, including blood tests are at an additional cost: this will be discussed with you and you can make the decision whether to proceed with these or arrange them at a later date or elsewhere. Any necessary prescriptions will be provided included as part of the appointment fee: the dispensing fee for the item will need to be settled directly with the dispensing pharmacy.
Who needs to accompany my child?
For child safeguarding reasons, an adult with parental responsibility must accompany their baby or child to the appointment. Dr Taylor is able to see young people aged 16 years and over in confidence without a responsible adult present.

Testimonials
What our patients say...
A beautiful clinic, on truly stunning grounds.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Harpenden Medical Clinic and have booked further treatments on recommendation after a discovery call to explore my health concerns. I can’t wait to go back!
Abigail
I visited Harpenden Medical following a series of heart-related issues. I have seen various GPs and been prescribed different medications but didn’t see any improvement.
After speaking with Dr Jollyman, for the first time in years I feel I am finally being listened to and given the right advice. I feel better already after a few short weeks of treatment and I look forward to seeing more results.
